Gmail Alerting Tools
Gmail Notifier
This official Google Gmail tool
was released in August of 2004. It is a Windows program with
two optional components:
COMPONENT 1 sits in the Windows system tray
and notifies a user when Email arrives in a Gmail inbox, and
COMPONENT 2 associates "mailto" links with Gmail.
gCount
A free tool that announces and counts new mail in a Gmail account
in the Mac OS X-menu bar (from Berkeley.edu).
gNotify
A Gmail notification program developed by Michael Isabella
of imizzy.com. The gNotify Web site includes download instructions,
sample screenshots, and a forum where users
can make comments and suggestions and report bugs
(from gNotify.com)
gTray - Windows Version
Alerts a user when they have new GMail, opens a
browser window, and logs the user directly into the
appropriate Gmail account.
gTray - GNOME Version
This version of gTray was inspired by
Elias Torres' gTray program for Windows
(GNOME is a Unix and Linux based
desktop suite and development platform)
